I guess it's about time I checked in. Sorry I didn't make it, but I have never been big on reunions. I don't know why, it's just me. I'm living most of the time in Green Valley Arizona and loving the sunshine and golf. Hope you all had a great time.

Well we had an awesome time at our 50th class reunion in 09'.  We just had an awesome time at our 50th wedding anniversary the 31st of December in Walla Walla. Two milestones that were great to meet!!

And then it is Winter.


You know, time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years.

It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went.

I know that I lived them all...

And I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams... But, here it is...the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise... How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go?

I remember well...seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like...  But, here it is...my friends are retired and getting gray...they move slower and I see an older person now.  Some are in better and some worse shape than me... but, I see the great change...  Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant... but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be.  

Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day!  And taking a nap is not a treat anymore...it's mandatory!  Cause if I don't on my own free will...I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!!

But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...this I know, that when it's over...its over....Yes, I have regrets.  There are things I wish I hadn't done ,,,,,things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done.  It's all in a lifetime....

So, if you're not in your winter yet...let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think.  So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly!  Don't put things off too long!!

Life goes by quickly.  So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not!

You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life...so, live for good today and

say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember...

and hope that they

appreciate and love you

for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past!!

Just the other day I complained to Mary that only three people had posted anything to this website after our Class reunion. 

Mary gave me that little smile I have learned to know that tells "me brace myself here it comes". 

She followed that little smile with "Honey, Let me see what you posted".  

 

Ok, so this is my first post to this website after our reunion.  

That wonderful reunion was the highlight of my summer.  Mary remarked during our week at Ann Ray's she finally understood why I had spoken so often and so fondly of Walla Walla and WaHi.)

The following was sent to my wife Mary from a classsmate of hers.  It kinda fits how Mary and I fell at this age.

Couldn't attend 50th Reunion. Probably graduated in late '50s. Sang in Men's chorus, announced campus events during Marshall Alexander's last year. Miss him deeply! But you don't mention me. Why not? Friend of Larry Ekstrom, Ray Kronquist.

hi everyone has it really been 50 yrs ? i have had so much fun with this website seeing everyone after so long.i really have enjoyed pictures of my classmates familys it hs been fun to see your kids so i hope more of you send lots of picures . we only have about three weeks so lets get them on here so we can all enjoy them . see you at the reunion it going to be a lot of fun  see you soon

My hazy memories get brighter each time I read a new bio. Was it really 50 years ago? Who'da thought? So quoting from a children's book called "Double Trouble in Walla Walla" I look forward to a "rootin-tooten" time having some "yak-yak." "Okey-dokey?" See you at our 50th "wing-ding."

Almost good timing but not good enough. I'll be in Walla Walla The weekend of August 1 for a family member's birthday party. Unfortunately for me, I have business commitments in California the week of the reunion.
It's been a lot of fun reacquainting myself with old classmates. Time has clouded my memory a little but, its amazing to me after studying photos of classmates how my memory starts flooding back.
Thanks for giving a California transfer student a good High School experience.

This memory book is addictive . . . I find myself checking it out daily to see who is new! Although it has been 50 years since we were in school together, it saddens me to see how many of our classmates are no longer with us. They remain in memory as 17 and full of hope. Memories: decorating for dances nailing up chicken wire walls and stuffing the holes with kleenex or crepe paper squares. How did we ever pass fire code? "Chop Sticks" and "Blue Moon" played with two fingers on the piano at the Shuffle Shop. Dragging Main St and ending at Chic's Drive In to pick up boys. Great fries at the Spudnut where each table had its own jukebox. Hope to see you August!
